What is a tab?
Tabs are a way of organizing your eBoard into multiple sections. For example, if you teach Math, English, and Science, you could create one tab for each subject area. Your tabs appear near the top of your eBoard. Each tab can have its own notes (see What is a note?) and users can click on a particular tab to see the notes that are stored under that tab.
What is the archive tab?
The archive tab is a special tab which you can use to save notes which you have created so that you can use them again later. For example, if you create a note describing a special Halloween project, you can move it to your archive tab when Halloween is over (see How do I move a note from one tab to another?). Next year, if you do the same project again, you can move this note back out of your archive and use it again.
Visitors to your eBoard will not see the archive tab - it is a private storage place just for you. The archive tab is only visible when you are in admin mode (see What is admin mode?).
How many tabs can I create?
All eBoards have up to 10 tabs. The archive tab is included for free and does not count against your maximum number of tabs
How do I create a new tab?
Follow these steps:
- Enter admin mode (see What is admin mode?).
- Look for a link that says "control panel" in the upper right hand corner of your eBoard, and click on it.
- From the control panel, click the link that says "tabs". You will see a list of all of your tabs.
- Find the box that says "Add a new tab" and enter a name for your tab, such as "Social Studies" or "Period 3". If you do not see the "Add a new tab" box, you most likely already have the maximum number of tabs (see How many tabs can I create?).
- Choose a color for your new tab from the list provided.
- Click "Save and Exit" to create your new tab and exit the control panel.
If you want to create several new tabs, click "Save" instead of "Save and Exit" when you get to the last step. You will go back to the "tabs" portion of the control panel and can repeat the last two steps.
How do I change the name of a tab?
Follow these steps:
- Enter admin mode (see What is admin mode?).
- Look for a link that says "control panel" in the upper right hand corner of your eBoard, and click on it.
- From the control panel, click the link that says "tabs". You will see a list of all of your tabs.
- Find the tab you want to rename and enter a new name in the box provided.
- Click "Save and Exit" to rename your tab and exit the control panel.
How do I change the color of a tab?
Follow these steps:
- Enter admin mode (see What is admin mode?).
- Look for a link that says "control panel" in the upper right hand corner of your eBoard, and click on it.
- From the control panel, click the link that says "tabs". You will see a list of all of your tabs.
- Find the tab you want to change and choose a new color for it from the drop-down menu in the "Tab Color" column.
- Click "Save and Exit" to change the color of your tab and exit the control panel.
How do I change the order of my tabs?
Follow these steps:
- Enter admin mode (see What is admin mode?).
- Look for a link that says "control panel" in the upper right hand corner of your eBoard, and click on it.
- From the control panel, click the link that says "tabs". You will see a list of all of your tabs.
- For each tab that you want to move, choose the new position from the "New Position" column. For example, if you want to move your last tab to the first position, just go to the last tab and select position one. You don't need to select anything for the other tabs.
- Click "Save and Exit" to make your changes and exit the control panel.
How do I delete a tab?
Keep in mind that deleting a tab will delete all notes and attachments on that entry, as well as any iNote entries that may be present. If you want to save any of the information on this tab, move the notes to a new tab first (see How do I move a note from one tab to another?).
Once you are sure you want to delete your tab, follow these steps:
- Enter admin mode (see What is admin mode?).
- Look for a link that says "control panel" in the upper right hand corner of your eBoard, and click on it.
- From the control panel, click the link that says "tabs". You will see a list of all of your tabs.
- Find the tab you want to delete and check the box in the "Delete" column.
- Click "Save and Exit".
- You will see a message asking whether you are sure. Click "OK".
